ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
FRESHER & YOUNGER
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections are composed of a natural, purified protein which when injected into facial muscles, weaken and lessen the lines associated with facial expression by relaxing the underlying muscles and allowing the skin to flatten out. By preventing the skin from contracting this decreases unwanted fine lines and wrinkles from forming, softening areas of concern whilst still maintaining expression.
Suitable areas for anti-wrinkle treatment:
Frown Lines / Forehead Lines / Crows Feet / Eyebrow Lift / Marionette Lines / Vertical Lip Lines / Upper lip volume 'lip flip'/ Gummy Smile / Teeth Grinding (Bruxism) / Facial Slimming / Chin Dimpling
How long will anti-wrinkle treatments last:
Depending on the dose and area injected, anti wrinkle treatments last approximately 3-4 months. This treatment is not permanent and requires regular treatment to maintain optimal results.
Aftercare advice following treatment:
First 4 hours:
-
No laying down
-
No application of makeup over injection areas
-
No massaging or touching areas injected
-
Avoid strenuous exercise or activity
-
No alcohol
24 - 48 hours post:
-
Avoid putting pressure on the treated areas
-
Minimise excessive exercise or activity
Up to 2 weeks post:
-
Avoid facials and massages to treated areas
-
Avoid facial waxing or any other treatments to the injected areas.
DERMAL FILLERS
ADDING VOLUME
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal Fillers are composed of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which is a substance that naturally exists in your body. This gel-like water-holding molecule is responsible for helping to keep your skin hydrated, plump and smooth. So why add this product to our body if we already produce it you ask? HA unfortunately gets broken down and synthesised on a daily basis. We also produce less and less HA as we age. Dermal fillers are a great way to restore HA and enhancing natural contours.
Suitable areas for dermal filler treatment:
Cheek Augmentation & Volume / Lip Enhancement & Moisture / Vertical lip lines / Nasolabial Folds / Chin / Jowls / Dynamic & Static Lines / Skin Depressions / Facial Re contouring.
How long will dermal fillers last:
The longevity of fillers lasts anywhere from 6 months - 2 years depending on the brand, thickness and area treated. Semi permanent fillers are certainly a much safer and preferred option. Semi permanent fillers give a more natural look as they integrate into the skin 4-6 weeks after being injected allowing normal expression and movement.
Aftercare advise following treatment:
Immediately after treatment with dermal fillers there may be slight redness, swelling or tenderness in the treated area. These reactions are to be expected and usually resolved in a few days following treatment.
Immediately - 48 hours post:
-
No application of makeup over treated areas
-
Avoid putting pressure on the treated areas
-
Minimise excessive exercise or activity
-
Do not expose area to intense heat
-
Avoid topical AHA's, retinols/vitamin C therapy and oil based make up
-
Sleep with an extra pillow to help decrease swelling.
Use the 3 C's to help post treatment:
COOL: Apply a cool compress once or twice a day to the treated area. Do not apply ice directly on the skin or expose the area to intense heat.
CALM: Avoid pressure on the treated area for at least the first few days/nights i.e. sleep on back if possible. Ask your practitioner about appropriate pain relief to assist with an easy recovery.
CLEAR: Avoid alcohol for the first 1-2 days. Avoid facials, facial waxing, IPL, peels, Vitamin C, retinols, glycolics and microdermabrasions for the first 2 weeks. Do not massage the are treated area. If prone to cold sores there is a small chance that a treatment may cause an outbreak, speak to your practitioner prior to treatment if this applies to you.
